The commonly known water closet is also called a toilet, also known as sanitary ceramics. How was it produced from a pile of porcelain clay.

1. Mud pairing: one input of soil for slurry mixing

The ceramic soil used for toilet firing is mixed with quartz, clay, feldspar, etc. It is first ball milled and mechanically stirred to form a uniform slurry, and then transported to the production workshop through high-pressure pipelines for the next step of production – grouting.

2. Slip Casting

The workers in the production area inject mud into the lime mold

After forming a certain thickness of the toilet body, it undergoes desizing, solidification, mold opening, flipping, and trimming. At this point, the prototype of the toilet has been formed, and it is still just a “adobe”.

3. High temperature drying

At this point, although the toilet is formed, it still contains a large amount of water and needs further drying. After drying, the toilet needs to be inspected multiple times, repaired and polished to make the surface of the adobe flat and have a beautiful curve.

4. Spray glaze

Before spraying the glaze, the body needs to undergo a comprehensive kerosene crack detection, water filling, trimming and blowing inspection by professional personnel before proceeding with the key step of spraying the glaze.

5. Trimming and scraping feet

After applying the glaze, it is necessary to “scrape the feet” of the toilet, remove excess glaze from the toilet cover and feet, and ensure that each glaze surface is flat.

6. Entering the kiln

After the glaze is dried, the workers will move the toilet onto the kiln frame and prepare it for firing in the kiln, commonly known as ascending the kiln.

7. High-temperature firing

After the re inspection is completed, it is fired at a high temperature of 1200-1280 ℃, which is crucial. After 12-14 hours of cooling and unloading, a clean and bright toilet will be fresh out of the kiln.

8. Product release

Even if all the previous steps are ensured to be correct, it is difficult to ensure a 100% harvest rate after kiln discharge. At this point, quality inspectors need to screen and grade each toilet that comes out of the kiln.

9. Inspection and water testing

After installing water components, a strict set of production standards must be followed in terms of testing and testing. Each toilet has undergone a 24-hour water barrier test. Only toilets that pass multiple tests are packaged and stored, and sold throughout the country. It is the finished product that everyone sees on the market.

It seems very simple, and every process is strictly controlled. Brand manufacturers follow the principle of high-quality products leaving the factory, usually 70-80%, which is stricter than national standards. We will never allow toilets with hidden dangers to leave the factory. This process alone involves the hard work and sweat of more than a dozen employees. It’s not easy to produce a toilet. After reading this article, do you feel that the toilet is really worth the money spent.
